Character Name: "Count Ciel Phantomhive of Britain" (Assumed)
Canon: OC, borrowing concepts from Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler
Canon Background: As a note, this is actually an OC application, but he will be required to be intimately, very intimately familiar with Ciel Phantomhive's life and memories, so a canon background is here.
AU Background: In actuality a very old demon known as the "Faceless", it has taken Ciel's life as it's own for the time being. It has no face of it's own, and at times is completely immaterial and unable to interact with the world, unless summoned. Then and only then does it have complete and total access to it's full powers and the ability to touch the world. It's specialty is stealing faces and lives of people by bonding with their soul, for eventual consumption.
Ciel was born in Britain to two very loving parents; Vincent and Rachel Phantomhive. He was unaware of the double life they led. He was kept blissfully in the dark with his twin sister, Celia Phantomhive. Still, even while they were unaware of the existence of the "Evil Noblemen" the twins were being groomed for the role as they grew; often being given games and puzzles to solve to keep their mind sharp. This happened so often that both grew to love them. This was also due to the fact that both were weak from birth and had asthma attacks brought on by a bout of pneumonia when they were very young. Therefore, both were weak and frail, but their parents believed in them fully that they could continue to do the Kingdom's dirty work from the shadows.
This was sadly cut short very suddenly. Evil Noblemen had enemies, and Vincent and Rachel were no different, and things took a personal turn when thugs broke into the manor to kill them. Everyone on the grounds were either killed or severely wounded save Ciel and Celia; they were captured and used for slavery and passed around in "Underworld" of Britain. Raped, tortured, and still worse, they and other children like them were driven almost to the point of no longer being human. Eventually they decided that since Ciel and Celia were special, they would try and use them for a special ritual.
They sacrificed Ciel to summon a demon, but things went awry from the plans. As Ciel had been the one to actually give up something, the demon came to him for a deal. Ciel slated the terms, but died before Sebastian could finalize things, leaving him very upset.
It was humorous because the fallen angel forged a deal with his twin instead, and most of what Ciel had ordered Sebastian to do amounted to "protect my sister."
Ciel instead hung around as best as he could as a ghost, keeping watch and trying to avoid agents of the afterlife to make sure nothing happened to his sister.
The time came shortly after where Celia decided she couldn't do without Ciel and decided to try summoning him from the afterlife, as she had enough occult novels on hand to manage the basics of how to do it.
That was when the Faceless intervened. Hearing the call of the summon, it instead overtook Ciel before he could manifest into the mortal realm once more, and bonded with his soul, reading all the memories the boy has. The plan is to find the "lost pieces" of Ciel to make the meal complete before the soul will actually be eaten, and to eat Celia's soul as well. In a roundabout way; the demon has forged contracts with both twins as now Ciel can in a sense protect his sister, and Celia can now be with her brother until they have their revenge.
Personality: The Faceless is motivated purely by basic instincts, hunger, pleasure, and survival. It has certainly developed a fine guile and cunning to realize these needs whenever it wishes, but a full personality is hard to make the argument of existing.
Perhaps this is why it adapts so well to whoever it imitates. Ciel after the experience is snide and haughty. He's been dealt a bad hand and wants to assert his abilities to take over for the Phantomhive family's life. As a spoiled child however, he is selfish and unyielding when he desires something. Perhaps having to live a little longer will temper this, but it isn't likely as while Ciel might have changed for the better, the Faceless is strong enough to theoretically take whatever it wants, and without Celia's guidance may mar the Phantomhive name irrevocably with a temper tantrum. So, change will be slow and unwanted, but may still occur.
What's funny here is the distinct and parallel thought processes that occurs because of this. As the Faceless, it is purely manipulating everyone around it to satisfy it's goal. As Ciel, he is a loving and devoted brother that wants to take over for his father and the family, as well as protect his sister. The problem here is that theoretically these two can run side-by-side forever, the reality is there's going to be a violent struggle for control when it comes time to dine on Celia as Ciel is merely bonded to, not consumed by, the Faceless. Logically, Ciel can only lose this as he's merely human, but the struggle will be very violent and dirty when Ciel does finally try to fight for control.
Also worth noting is the fact that the demon takes a very high and perverse pleasure in that an angel, fallen or not, must obey it's orders because of Celia. This has created an unintended, but strong fascination with the butler that runs a very wide range of casual interest to intense obsession. Regardless of this however, Sebastian is an obstacle; that will eventually need removed, or persuaded to step aside if the demon ever wants to complete it's goals.
Combat Style: As it imitates Ciel, it has acquired his skill with a rapier, as well as a gun. With the Eye of Cold, it can enchant both of these to cast either a hard freeze effect that encases in ice, or a deeper and penetrating cold wave that makes the target suffer in addition to the actual wound caused.
As a demon, it is far stronger than a human can hope to be, and is actually capable of similar feats as Sebastian himself. Also similar to Sebastian, it has restrictions as it too wishes to avoid scrutiny and when appearing as Ciel, still has the limits of what such a small body can do as far as punishment, but the demon makes it a point to unseal at least part of it's offensive power when in a fight, as this is part of the demon's need to survive.
Though, it is far more selfish than Sebastian as while it is technically in contract, it isn't in actuality.
Therefore it can make contracts with others in the short-term to trick them out of their soul, and while Sebastian is more geared toward fixing things, the Faceless is content to instead destroy.
As is the case with it's other specialty, magic. It can easily create snowstorms, summon ice stalagmites to drop on enemies, etc. Obviously it can't affect a whole battlefield, but he can attack small groups, thanks to both it's artifact, and Ciel's own..
Kingdom or Faction: Britain
Primary Role: Courtier (Preferably Viscount, but a Baronet is fine too.)
Tarot Cards: Death, The High Priestess, Judgement
Title: The Evil Nobleman, The Ice Flower, Cock Robin(This is a canon joke.).
Artifacts: Eye of Cold - The other half of a set. The other is in Celia's possession. Both have bonded to each twin's right eye, not replacing it and therefore rendering them blind in it, but the array that now covers their eye is fairly noticeable, so Ciel will just as often cover it when he doesn't want others to notice it.
It enhances Ice magic, and therefore can also be used to enchant objects, as well as powerful feats of magic, especially when coupled with the demon's own innate magical prowess and artifact.
Magus Arcanum - Something even older than the Faceless, it was stolen in a far gone time when it roamed the world. Part of what makes it a "mystery" is that the owner can reshape it to their desires. As Ciel, he wears it as an imitation of the Phantomhive family ring. It's purpose is to enhance magic, ramping up the demon's already impressive magical abilities.
Sample Post:
His post, plus the tags with it for some voice samples. Worth noting is that while I may internalize the demon's thoughts, it will be hard to shake it out of Ciel's personality. A good example of the split is in the tarot cards as I had both answer.
